There is no substitute in human relations for parental love. He is the answer to those persistent questions: Possessing the divine image, man reflects God not only in his moral, intellectual, and emotional capacities but also in his aesthetic sensibility, social inclinations, and other qualities of his personality.
A child must be viewed in his unity, in his wholeness. No amount of carefully prepared educational materials, whatever their value as tools, can compensate for the lack of a carefully prepared teacher: In fact, he rules in order to serve. If the developmental process during the years of the elementary school has been one of the whole-person-in-life, the pupil is reasonably well prepared for this stage which ushers in the adolescent period of life.
Much truth, however, is not specifically revealed in God's Word, but is consistent with the principles of God's Word. Though the Word of God is the main source of the knowledge of God, both factual and personal, and therefore deserves precedence, the works of God are also an important part of the Christian school curriculum.
